We’ve had a few ideas percolating in the Test Kitchen, and we’re excited to share them with you.
Private/Public/Draft Recipes
We’ve enhanced how you can post a recipe. Posting the recipe is still the same, only now you can choose how you want your recipe to be viewed – Public, Private or Draft. Here’s the quick scoop on the differences.
- Public Recipe: Anyone can find, Pinch, add to cookbooks and share the recipe in groups, discussions and comments. Only public recipes are eligible for Blue Ribbons. This is the current recipe functionality.
- Private Recipe: Just A Pinch will not list this recipe publicly, but you can share it with others. Anyone with a link to the recipe can find, Pinch, add to cookbooks and share the recipe in groups, discussions and comments. Think of it like an unlisted phone number. It’s not listed in the directory, but anyone with the number can still call you. You can convert a private recipe to a public recipe if you desire.
- Draft: Only you can see this recipe. Drafts cannot be shared or included in cookbooks. A new feature for Draft recipes is you can keep drafts of MULTIPLE recipes. Just hit save and work on ‘em later.
Premium Perks Membership
We’ve been taking a long, hard look at our Premium Perks membership. Only a very small percentage of members take advantage of this membership. With that thought in mind, and in response to so many folks wanting access to the deeper functionality on the site, we’ve decided to open up some of the perks.
Now, all members will be able to enjoy these great features:
- Folders: Easily organize recipes from Just A Pinch (including ALL your Pinches from other sites) into custom recipe box folders.
- Personalize Recipes: Add your personal notes to a recipe.
- Menu Calendar & Grocery List: Save meals to your calendar, then print weekly menus and grocery lists.
- Photo Albums: Upload and share collections of your favorite recipes with unlimited photo albums.
- Unlimited Downloads of e-Cookbooks: Download your favorite Just A Pinch cookbooks to your Kindle, tablet or personal computer. (Members’ Choice cookbooks excluded.)
- Just A Pinch Aprons will be available for everyone to purchase for $11.99 ($35 value) while supplies last. Get yours now!
Moving forward, Premium Perks members (now called Premium members) will continue to enjoy ad-free browsing and a club apron on sign up (3 yr only).
Blue Ribbon Fast Track
As a new perk, Premium members also get the opportunity to Fast Track their Blue Ribbon potential. Simply tell us which recipe you wish to be tested by the Kitchen Crew, we’ll cook it, review it and, if deemed worthy, award a Blue Ribbon (rules and additional fees apply).
