I got some of my grandmother's cookbooks when she passed, and this recipe was in one. I've been making this chili for about 10 years. When tailgating, everyone loved it, they said it was seasoned just right.

2 Tbspvegetable oil

1onion, chopped

2 1/2 lbsground beef or turkey

1 Tbspsalt

1 Tbspblack pepper

3 Tbspchili powder

3 canpinto beans

1 candiced tomatoes

2 cantomatoe sauce

1 cketchup

3bay leaves

1 tspsugar

2 cbeer or water

How To Make chili

1Heat vegetable oil, add chopped onion and cook until transparent. Stir in meat and brown, drain. Add other ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. Top with cheese, sour cream and scallions. Freezes well.
