This recipe is amazing how it comes together. You don't cook the macaroni in advance. It is incredibly easy!!! It cooks while in the oven. The first time I made this I used a combination of cheddar and smoked cheddar cheese. It was delicious. Don't be afraid to experiment with combinations of cheese. This is also good with some chopped veggies and ham mixed in.

Ingredients For vanishing macaroni & cheese

  • 16 oz box
    elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 5 c
    milk
  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 c
    smoked cheddar cheese, shredded
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c
    panko
  • 4 oz can
    chopped green chiles (optional)

How To Make vanishing macaroni & cheese

    Options: Use Italian blend cheese by Sargento Use Gouda and swiss Add vegetables Add green chiles, chopped and drained Put some panko on top. Use your imagination and try what you like best

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the butter in the casserole dish and melt in the oven. Remove when it is melted.

    Place the uncooked macaroni, milk, salt, pepper and cheese in the dish and stir. Cover with foil and bake for 50 mins. Remove from the oven and let it stand for 5 minutes Remove the foil and watch it vanish
