Ingredients For squirrel stew

  • 1
    squirrel, cut up
  • all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp
    butter
  • 7 c
    boiling water
  • 1 tsp
    thyme
  • 1 c
    corn
  • 3
    potatoes, cubed
  • 3 md
    onions, sliced
  • 2 c
    tomatoes, canned
  • 1/4 tsp
    cayenne pepper

How To Make squirrel stew

  • 1
    Dredge squirrel pieces in flour, salt, and pepper.

    Brown in butter.
  • 3
    Add squirrel and all ingredients except the tomatoes to the boiling water.
  • 4
    Cover and simmer for 1 to 2 hours.
  • 5
    Add the tomatoes and continue to simmer for another hour.
