I found this recipe in a very old cookbook. I tried it and it's a good company recipe, hence the name party chicken. Serve with rice.

Ingredients For party chicken

3roasting chickens, cut in parts

salt and paprika to taste

1/4 lbbutter

2 lblarge onions, sliced

3 cdark brown sugar

2 Tbspplus 1 tsp.soy sauce

1 csliced almonds

2 Tbspbutter
How To Make party chicken

1Sprinkle skin side of chicken parts with salt and paprika and broil on skin side only until nicely browned.

2Saute onion slices in 1/4 pound butter until soft. Add brown sugar, stirring over medium heat until melted. Add soy sauce and cook gently for 1 minute, stirring.

3Place chicken in single layer, skin side up, in a large shallow baking pan. Spoon sauce with onions over chicken, cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

4When ready to serve, top with almonds which have been sauteed in 2 tbsp. butter.
