It's been years since I've eaten a Big Mac™ hamburger. Here's our taco version! ;) If desired, you can shape the ground hamburger into little "baby burgers" and either pan fry or bake. Includes a simplified, homemade recipe for the Special Sauce, too. All ingredient amounts are estimated as are the servings. ¡Viva Takos Tuesday!

Ingredients For big mac tacos

  • 1 Tbsp
    oil, for frying
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt-free garlic powder
  • 8
    corn tortilla shells, approximately
  • SPECIAL SAUCE:
  • 1/2 c
    mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1-2 tsp
    white vinegar
  • 4 tsp
    sweet pickle relish
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • pinch
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    water or milk
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • BIG MAC TOPPINGS:
  • lettuce leaves (spinach, iceberg, mixed greens, etc.)
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • bread and butter pickles
  • diced onion
  • white or brown sesame seeds
  • homemade special sauce™
  • sliced tomatoes (i think the small grape sized tomatoes are best for this recipe)
  • fresh cilantro, minced
  • hot sauce or fresh chili peppers, minced

How To Make big mac tacos

  • 1
    Prepare the Special Sauce, cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.
  • 2
    Heat up the oil in a pan and cook the ground meat until no longer pink. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and the garlic powder the final few minutes of browning.

    Place about scant 1/4 cup of the browned meat in each taco shell. Add a spoonful of the Special Sauce then garnish with the Big Mac toppings.
