My mother would make this when I was growing up but not in a crockpot. She has all her recipes in her head pretty much so I tried to duplicate it. I tweeked it a little, so don't tell her, and this is what I came up with. It was so darn good and all ready by the time I got home from work! Love my crockpot!

Ingredients For crockpot swiss steak dinner

  • 1 1/2 lb
    boneless sirloin beef cut in cubes
  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 3 md
    potatoes, cut in wedges
  • 1 1/2 c
    baby carrots
  • 1 md
    onion cut in slices
  • 1 can
    italian diced tomatoes with oregano and garlic
  • 1 can
    cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tsp
    parsley

How To Make crockpot swiss steak dinner

    Cut your steak into cubes and flatten them a little, place in the flour, salt and pepper in a ziplock bag. Shake and coat the steak. Brown in the olive oil on both sides.

    In your crockpot layer your potatoes, carrots, beef and onions. In a small bowl combine your mushroom soup with the tomatoes then pour over the top.

    Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours or until the meat and veggies are tender. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. Enjoy.

    Note: If you do not use a liner, remember to spray your crockpot with cooking spray to prevent any sticking and to make clean up easier.
