This is an easy and tasty tofu burger recipe. This recipe makes nice firm burgers that don't fall apart; and using homemade BBQ sauce is the best, but store bought is fine too.

Ingredients For tofu burgers/ japanese style

1 lbpkg. firm tofu, cubed
-
1/2 mdsweet onion, minced
-
1 mdcarrot, minced
-
2 Tbspall purpose flour or gluten free baking mix
-
1/2 cpanko bread crumbs or spelt bread crumbs
-
1 tspeach dried basil and dried thyme of use 2 teas. mixed herbs
-
1 dashground nutmeg
-
salt and pepper to taste
- BBQ SAUCE:
-
2 Tbspvegan worcester sauce
-
2 Tbspketchup
-
2 Tbspagave syrup or maple syrup
-
2 tspsriracha sauce, optional spicy
How To Make tofu burgers/ japanese style

1Burgers:
Microwave the tofu for 2 minutes. Press water out- as much as you can- the more the better.
Heat onion and carrot in hot oil vegetable in skillet, until tender and carrots is soft. -
2Place well pressed tofu, veggies and remaining ingredients into a bowl and mix well to combine, like making regular meat burgers.

3Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape into burgers.
Fry on both sides over medium heat in a covered pan until burgers are brown , turning once. -
4BBQ Sauce:
Combine all ingredients and spread on burgers.
Add any condiments you desire; such as cabbage salad, pickles, onion, lettuce, tomato, etc.... - Last Step: Don't forget to share!
