Ingredients For date pudding

  • 3 c
    brown sugar
  • 3 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 or 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 c
    chopped dates (pitted)
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp
    baking powder

How To Make date pudding

  • 1
    Combine first 3 ingredients. Make a syrup and boil 3 minutes. Pour into lightly floured 9x13 inch pan.

    Combine remaining ingredients to make dough.

    Drop dough into the hot syrup by spoonsful.
  • 4
    Bake in moderate oven (350) for 30 minutes.
  • 5
    Serve warm with whipped cream.
