Believe it or not, one day my child asked if all brownies were chocolate. No, I told him, some are made with other things. Then I found this recipe for Blonde Brownies. We tried it and loved it. I make it almost as much as the chocolate kind. It goes well at church suppers and potlucks.

Ingredients For blonde brownies

  • 2 1/2 c
    light brown sugar
  • 2/3 c
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • 2 tsp
    real vanilla
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1
    12-ounce package chocolate chips (optional)

How To Make blonde brownies

  • 1
    Spray 13"x9" pan with non-fat cooking spray.

    Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift all dry ingredients together and add to mixture and mix well.

    Pour into pan. Spread and smooth batter. If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips on top or use other flavored chips.

    Bake at 350. Do not overbake. Check at 20 min. Toothpick should come out clean. Try to wait until completely cool before eating. We never can wait that long if brownies are for having at home!
