This is a delicious protein packed, yet low fat candy recipe. You have to taste it to believe it. And its fun to ask people to guess the secret ingredient.

Ingredients For pinto bean fudge

  • 1 c
    cooked pinto beans, unseasoned
  • 3/4 c
    cocoa
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp
    vanilla (yes 1 tablespoon)
  • 2 lb
    powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch
    salt (do not add if beans have any salt in them)
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

How To Make pinto bean fudge

  • 1
    Mash the beans. Mix them with the margarine, cocoa and vanilla. Stir in the sugar and pecans.

    Butter a 9 by 13 inch pan and spread the bean mixture in this. Put into the refrigerator and chill thoroughly. Cut into squares, serve.
