A delicious recipe dating back to the 1920s. It is so great to have a recipe make it from generation to generation! NOTE THE PIE PICTURED HAS A THIN MERINGUE TOPPING. I am not one for meringue.

Ingredients For honey pie

  • 1 c
    toasted slivered almonds
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 c
    honey
  • 3
    eggs slightly beating
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 9
    inch unbaked pie shell

How To Make honey pie

  • 1
    PREHEAT OVEN TO 375
  • 2
    Blend all ingredients except crust in a mixing bowl. pour into pie shell. Bake 40 to 50 minutes, until crust is set and filling is golden. Let cool at least 2 hours before cutting.
