These baked carrots are so good your kids will be asking for seconds. Baking the carrots in sugar, salt, cinnamon, and butter is a fantastic salty and sweet flavor combination. As it cooks, the sauce becomes a syrup and coats the carrots. Very simple to taste and everyone will love this side dish. Fantastic for a holiday dinner but easy enough to serve for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients For baked carrots

  • 1 lb
    carrots
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/3 tsp
    cinnamon

How To Make baked carrots

  • Peeled carrots on a cutting board.

    Scrape the carrots.
  • Cut carrots on a cutting board.

    Leave small carrots whole and slice large carrots. Place in a casserole dish.
  • Butter, sugar, salt, and cinnamon creamed together.

    Cream butter, sugar, salt, and cinnamon together.
  • Boiling water poured into the bowl.

    Add 1 cup boiling water and blend well.
  • Butter/water mixture poured over the carrots.

    Pour over carrots.
  • Carrots in a casserole dish baking in the oven.

    Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
